The National Focal Point for the EEA and Norway Grants in Cyprus

The Republic of Cyprus officially designated in the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between the Republic of Cyprus and the Donor States, the Directorate General for European Programmes, Coordination and Development of the Republic of Cyprus (DG EPCD) as the National Focal Point for the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 in Cyprus. The National Focal Point has the overall responsibility for achieving the objectives of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 and for implementing the MoUs. The DG EPCD was also the National Focal Point (NFP) during the previous periods (2004-2009 and 2009-2014).

The DG EPCD is a Service of the public sector, functionally and operationally accountable to the Minister of Finance. The administrative head of the DG EPCD is its Permanent Secretary, who has the overall responsibility for the operation of the National Focal Point and its representation in its relations with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA) and the Financial Mechanism Committee (FMC).

Also, in accordance with the signed MoUs, the DG EPCD has also been designated to act as the Programme Operator for two of the Programmes that are implemented in Cyprus.
